SLOVAKIA

Born and raised in a little town called Streda nad Bodrogom (Slovak) or Bodrogszerdahely (Hungarian)!

–for those of you learning Slovak or Hungarian. :)

the Shopping center in the left upper corner,,, bottom left corner the Véchey Castle (Véchey kastély) –

not a real good angle of the Castle,,, looks like a big house, but Really- it is a Castle- has underground

tunnels and all :) was owned by the Barron Véchey! , ,, middle picture our center point Restaurant! -that’s

were most of my relatives wedding receptions were,,, are held! – loved to get on our bikes and ride into

town for an ice cream cone,,, yummie ,,,, upper right corner is the Greek Catholic Church (Görög

katólikus templom),,, bottom right corner the Bridge and Lake Bodrog (Bodrog folyó),,,

the bridge connects our town and

the town called Viničky where my grandparents live… Hi Grandma! Hi Grandpa! :)

Here is the deal! My nationality, national language, the language I learned and was raised with is

Hungarian,,,,,, but the country I was born and raised in is Slovakia! – a totally different language! (can

read and understand it, but very hard to speak it)

-what’s the saying? – if you don’t use it, u lose it!!!

This mess, goes back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire,,,, la, la, la,,,,, countries dividing,

Our town ended up in the Slovak Country! ;(
